Dr Piotr Tompalski
RESEARCH SCIENTIST,
CANADIAN FOREST SERVICEPiotr was born and raised in Poland, where he pursued his studies in forestry at the University of Agriculture in Krakow. He earned his Ph.D. in 2013 and subsequently moved to Vancouver to work as a Post-Doctoral Fellow and Research Associate in Dr. Nicholas Coops' lab. In 2021, Piotr joined the Canadian Forest Service, where he currently works as a Research Scientist. In his research, Piotr utilizes a variety of remote sensing data sources, including laser scanning, photogrammetry, and satellite imagery, to enhance carbon monitoring and reporting. His recent work has focused on using multi-temporal datasets to quantify forest growth dynamics.

Dr Amy L Neuenschwander
SENIOR RESEARCH SCIENTIST,
UNIVERSITY OF TEXASAmy is a Senior Research Scientist at the University of Texas at Austin Center for Space Research. She is a past NASA Fellow, and has over 30 years of experience in EO/IR imagery, signal processing and LiDAR analysis. Dr. Neuenschwander holds a B.S. and a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a doctorate degree in Geography and the Environment from the University of Texas at Austin. She has been an active member of the ICESat-2 science team since 2008 and led the development of the ICESat-2 land and vegetation mission product (ATL08) and is currently developing the upcoming ATL18 (Land and Vegetation) gridded data product. She is an expert in ecosystem structure and how it relates to the global climate and has a rich history in producing important data products for the scientific community. Her research focus often incorporates uncertainty analysis, data validation and data fusion.

Dr Kevin Lim

REMSOFTDr. Kevin Lim is the CEO of Remsoft, a global leader in intelligent planning solutions for forestry. He was previously the founder and CEO of Lim Geomatics, a pioneering Canadian company that developed cutting-edge geospatial software for the forestry value chain. Following the acquisition of Lim Geomatics by Remsoft in March 2025, Dr. Lim assumed leadership of the combined organization to accelerate innovation and expand the reach of digital solutions across the forestry industry.
With over two decades of experience at the intersection of technology, geospatial intelligence, and natural resources management, Dr. Lim has been a driving force in transforming how organizations use data to make smarter decisions. He holds a PhD in Geomatics from Queen’s University and has worked extensively with industry, government, and academic partners to apply geospatial technologies, remote sensing, and AI to real-world challenges in forestry.
He is also the host of The Digital Forester podcast, where he leads insightful conversations with leaders and innovators shaping the future of forestry. Known for his thoughtful questions and ability to connect technical topics to broader industry trends, Dr. Lim brings clarity and vision to complex challenges with digital transformation in the forestry industry.
